Thai Restaurant
I went to this great restaurant whilst visiting relatives in the area. The Peak District and Thai food does not necessarily spring to mind as a great combination, but I really enjoyed my meal here. The two of us had to make a reservation for a busy Saturday evening and indeed the place was packed when we got there. We sat at a romantically lit little table (which would have been even better if I hadn't been with my sister!) and proceeded to scoff, and sadly that is what we did, their varied set menu, which came in at about 22GBP per head. I particularly enjoyed the mixed platter starter. This is definitely a place to go with an empty stomach, to make the most of the experience. Would go again...if I get invited!

Simply Thai is a great restaurant in the middle of Buxton, it is easy to find and less easy to get a table ! It is always worth booking. They do great takeaways too ! We have been going for over 3 years and have never had a bad meal. The worst thing is that the food is so good that we stick to the same things, Pad Thai, Sleeping Tiger, BBQ ribs, king prawn red thai curry. These are all the best examples I have ever tasted. We are always delighted when different people come to stay and we get intoduced to new dishes! It has never disappointed. It is child friendly - though has no kids menu - though ours like the ribs and the noodles and the vegetables in oyster sauce.
Food was lovely - the "hotness" rating was also spot on, so they weren't joking when all the salads were rated as very hot! I had a mixed Thai starter which was very nice, followed by deep fried fish, with apple (unusual and very nice). Service was a little slow at first, but once the restaurant emptied a little, it duly speeded up. Otherwise, service was courteous. Wine selection was fine (more extensive than some) and pricing was very reasonable by London standards and probably on the pricey side otherwise!
