  I didn't end up having a tattoo at Blue Pearl. I walked in to either have my tattoo or make an appointment (I wasn't sure of the protocol having never had one before) and really didn't like how I was treated. The owner was sat in the back room and just stared at me for a minute or so and then came into the shop and stared at me a while longer. I found this a bit intimidating. I finally plucked up the courage to ask if he was the tattooist to have him grunt "Yeah" at me and then say nothing else. I tried to explain what I wanted, but to be frank he wasn't listening to me. He then grunted at me how I would need an appointment. I asked when he was free and was grunted at again. As I was keen to have it there and then I thought I'd try somewhere else. I also wasn't too keen on how I'd been treated so far. My friend asked him for a card. I will quote what was said next; "You can have a card, but there's no point giving you one. I dont take bookings over the phone. You need to leave a deposit because you might change you mind and waste my time" I understand why he would want me to leave a deposit etc, but was there really any need to add the bit about wasting his time? I have thought long and hard about what I want doing and I have every intention of having it - infact I have made an appointment and paid a deposit elsewhere. It takes a lot to shock me, but I was gobsmaked at how rude he was to me. Having spoken to a couple of friends about my experience I have discovered that I am not alone. That said, the premises seemed clean enough, but not a patch on where I eventually ended up. The one star I have awarded is purely for cleanliness. To summarise, even without the experience of having a tattoo there, I honestly can't reccommend going to Blue Pearl unless you want an unfriendly and uncomfortable service. Thumbs down from me I'm afraid.
