El Rio

El Rio in macclesfield offers an unusual style restaurant and mexican food in a warm and friendly atmosphere. located odwn a small side street it can be hard to find. it is near the back of the new medical centre in waters green not far from the bus and rail stations. the restaurant is fairly small and compact and a little like a rabbit warren. the staff are very friendly and cheerful and like a joke with the customers. accommodates small parties and bookings and is popular for small office do's and parties. the menu is typically mexican with a good choice of favourite dishes. the food is not as good as i expected but for the money it is adequate. parking can be tricky-best in one of the nearby pay and displays, which should be free after 6 p.m. anyway. a good alternative to the usual dining experience, and the staff go out of their way to make the ambiance very authentic and fun. oftern live music on offer in the small bar which adds to the overall feel of the place.
