Savoy Spice

We tried the Savoy spice restaurant after receiving a flyer through the door offering a 4 course meal on a sun & tues for £7.95. There were 3 of us eating and the total price for the meal including 3 cokes and 2 beers was £59.90!! It said a starter was one course, a curry, the second, rice or naan bread being the third and a desert being the fourth. He brought us out poppadoms we did'nt order and when we finished our main he brought the dessert menu out which is obviously what you would expect with it being a four course meal, we ordered 3 desserts, it also stated coffee and mints but we asked for the bill and what a shock!! It turns out that the poppadoms were classed as a course, then the starter being the second followed by the curry and rice being the third and fourth, the menu obviously is'nt made clear, the desserts were £3.95 each, why would we choose to pay for these and get the 4 poppadoms for free?? they dont explain and just readily bring out the 'extra's' knowing that when the time comes to pay, they are laughing all the way to the bank! There was also an unexplained £7.90 and when we questioned it along with the dessert saga the manager got quite stroppy, we were made to feel stupid. Even asking to take home our left overs was a major thing, the waiter shook his head! i have often wondered why it never gets busy, god knows how many more people they have ripped off like us. we def will not be going back again and i advise everyone who does'nt have astronomical funds in the bank to stay clear. If there was'nt a law for fly postering, i'd be putting them up all over stockport warning them of the daylight robbery you would be guaranteed at the Savoy Spice!!
