Everyone complaining below, it's your own fault. If you're dumb enough to pay a fee then you deserve everything you get. You're obviously using a brokerage because you can't get a loan else where, may be that should ring alarm bells that your credit rating is that shocking, you can't get a loan. It's a brokerage service, not a lender and the loans are always subject to status and affordability checks, which by the sounds of it, none of you could afford it.

Legal scam!! Thieves
Yes, we've been scammed! It was my partner that hastily signed up and paid for this. It was only after I googled the company name that alarm bells started going off! The scam pretty is simple... They tell you that you have a guanteed loan - they are adamant that it's all gone through and the money will be in your account within 5 days. Unfortunatly, we were asked for a £75 'admin' fee. Of course, £75 is nothing compared to the £2000 loan that they have offered so it's easy to be blinded by the cash. They then get you to sign the 'paperwork' and send back as soon as possible. My partner failed to read the terms and conditions... which I might add is full of grammatical errors and sent off. What the paperwork actually reads is that you have confirmed that you have paid the £75 for them to act as a broker for you to try and find you a loan (not that they have a loan in place). They also included a pdf stating not to answer any foreign/unknown calls as thier system may have been hacked. I believe they then send your details off to random loan companies who will either reject you or offer an astronomical APR. Those companies will bombard you with phone calls (although you've been told not to speak to them). You then realise (after googling) that you've been had. You call them up, they tell you to ring a different number (cust services) which simply rings and rings then goes to voice mail. I believe most people will just give up as there's no way of getting your money back... But there is - although you will have to wait 3 months and provide evidence that they haven't found you a loan. The problem now being that my partner has had to change her mobile number due to getting 20 to 30 calls a day from various numbers. So now, legally there is no way of proving that the company has or hasn't found us a loan!!! These guys must be minted as this legal scam is almost perfect. This company takes advantage of people who desparately need a loan and also how the legal system works. It's sickening to know there's nothing you can do about it and that companies like this still remain open in Britain. I'm also genuinely shocked that none of thier customers - me or you - has gone down to thier operating site and knocked ten lumps of s**t out of them. Although I would gues that thier address is probably an empty rented office room where post is occasionaly picked up. Absolue scum bags.

not again
after a phone call from these people with a guaranteed loan, i fell yet again into the trap and believed them, i was desperate and stupid, handed over my bank details and paid not a £65 charge but £75, only to find all these reviews after, tried phoning and like everybody else no answer just recorded message to leave details and wait for call back, to no avail, this just isnt happening, my only consellation is that i never signed the form the money was taken before i received it,just hoping this will help me get them for fraud, do these type of people get a kick out of this sort of thing, do they not realise that we go to them for help not to be ripped off, if we had spare money we wouldnt be asking for a loan in the first place, we cant afford to be ripped off.i dont know how they can sleep at night, i know i cant now

would not give them anything this is a scam loan company they get you £65 admin fee then that's it you hear no more from them i have phoned them about 10 times a day every day for 14 days now and get nothing the only time i did they said your lender will contact you by 1800 if not phone me haha guess what no answer have taken a card dispute out now see what happens and reporting them to the financial ombudsman and trading standards star only because it wont let me put it on without any

I cant believe this.... I was getting stressed at them n starting to worry.... I am now embarressed but I would gladdly pay £65 pound to get hold of the rude supervisor in the first sales department....... the little weasel wouldnt be cocky and smug in person........... this robbing company needs shutting down!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was relying on their bull as iv just started up a company.... when its said its our fault for handing over money... what a load of crock.... some ppl like myself are not private investigators, good on pcs and most r in need........... I do not know where to begin to vent my rage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i wont offer a star value as they dont rate in my opinion . i was put with them via a phone call from a company who claimed to be credit expert ( another scam call ) i spoke to a young woman at city financial stockport who said no problem we can help you guaranteed it would just cost me £65.00 as a brokers fee ( out of my disability benefit ) that would be deducted from my first repayment and they would post out the autherisation form after seven days and several heated phone calls to them being told its been sent /we got it this morning /it will be sent out in todays post / by the seventh day the finally emailed it to me i returned it and after a few more phne calls i was told the loan provider will ring you ( the only calls i got were betwee 3-5 calls a day from scam artists saying we have been given your details by city financial but as for a loan provider nothing after several days i rang them yet again and i was promptly told that the loan had been refused due to an issue on my credit file ( which they had been informed of in the first application phone call and said not a problem ?) i sent my credit file off to them and it has now taken twelve days and after my blowing my top with them several times and theatening to report them to the financial authorities ( ombudsman ) they finally said that they could not provide a loan due to the search record being too high on my report i was then told that a refund was not applicable as they are a non profit company ( but yet at the first setup shall we say call i was told if we cant help you you will get a full refund ? ) it would seem that the moto of this company it lie through your back teeth to get a sale then run like hell when the payment has cleared . my advise would be if you want to give money away go to a charity or good cause even throw it down a drain because it would do more good than being sucked up by this scam company just think twice and then twice again then go out an get drunk or put it on a horse before you ever think of dealing with this load of scammers .

facts right
looked up on this company and they are fully liscenced and registered, they off the service that of a loan broker. so the payment they take is 100% legal to much peoples dissapointment and as for the overseas calls they are nothing to do with the company and the raud team within the police are dealing with the matter. after speaking with a number of advisors on numerous occasions i have been assured that im not to pay any additional fees to any third parties or lenders that are in contact and to call the police if any foreign indian compains call and ask to pay ukash vouchers for 1st month installment, and a fraud warning is sent with my t&c's. im not justyfying them taking £65 but it is legal and if youve given card details to pay then youve no-one else to point thefinger at apart from yourself, look up on business before handing youre money over in the future.

I couldnt pay City Financial the £65 fee so they put me onto a pay day loan company ProntoPound who were supposedly pay the £65 into my account then i was to transfer it over to City Financial, I never received the fund but ProntoPound try to collect repayment from my bank account fortunately I was quick enough to realise I had been foul to a scam as ProntoPound hav alias being that of North Finance, validius Financial and City FInancial all using same phone number that no0ne ever returns calls and E-mail get returned as unable to send

I am upset and Angry
I paid £65 to City financial after being told I was eligable for a £10000 loan, they would be in contact and send out the relavent forms for signature within 5 working days, thought it was to good to be true. After not hearing from them, I phoned up several times, no answer, started getting calls from abroad which I ignored. Then I found this web site, and I realised, what a mug, how could I have fell for this. Well, I will be going down to Stockport, and I will confront these people

ive just found this site unfortunately ive just handed 45 pounds from my bank account to them from my sickness benefit was told im guaranteed payment by friday after reviewing this page i cant believe ive been so gullable and bank the halifax havent been very sympathetic at all.

Countlessly, victimes are writing. What does the police do about those scams? Because they have legal status(registered), supposed to have a physical address, they are able to legaly take the money and debit people's accounts. I think the people to complain against now are the 'company house' and the 'police'. I don't feel secured with my Bank account any more as I have lost about 500 pounds in a week(last week): 300 pounds from a fake financial company who asked for the payment of the first month(300£) by me buying a UKASH voucher to communicate them the pin, an other 100 with a broker and 65 with City Financial. These people should not be allowed to trade in UK or else where!

Like many others I agreed to pay £65 to City Financial, and was then recieving calls from numbers abroad saying they would deposit money into my bank if i paid the 1st months payment now, without ant loan agreements being sent or signed !! naturally i refused, then when i asked for a refund a very rude lady called natalie at City Financial( North Financial Services Ltd) told me that they did not refund monies , even though the T&Cs they sent me said they did as did the sales advisor. I managed to find out that the director is Jonathan Smith and the company registered address is 13A Hyde Road, Woodley, Stockport, Cheshire, SK61QG. alternative contact number 01614063010, when i spoke with Jonathan he assured me that it was a genuine business and his company did organise thousands of loans each year, he apologised for Natalies rude behaviour and incorrect advice on refund policy, he advised me that he had personally made refund and hopefully that is the end of matter

hassled by phone calls
As the rest of you we have fallen for the £65 charge but we keep getting call after call from abroard telling me i have a loan all i have to do is pay the first instalment first then they will put the money in the bank we thought this was abit strange and told the woman we have decided not to get the loan so she threatened us with black listing us for the next 10 yearsthe strange thing is she gave me the ref number and all the details that NF gave me but on looking up on the who calls me sight the number this person rings from is also a scam they take your money then you can not get through to them again why is it you just can't get a loan without some person trying to rip you off when you haven't much money anyway

Wow, the above was really unexpected as I did believe the young lady called Charlotte that my loan was ready to be deposited into my account. I waited the requested five days for a call from them to obtain my account details, the call never came, I tried to call several times and left messages and sent emails but nothing not even a courtesy email or call, I eventually got through and they GUARANTEED my call would come that day in fact within the hour, one week later Im still waiting, yesterday I managed to get through and I ask the young lady name not given this time to cancel my application and return my fee of £65. She then told me the fourteen days has expired and I was not entitled to a refund. I will not let this go, as long as it costs me nothing (as I have no surplus money to pursue this through the courts) I will endeavour to blogg, contact the FSA, CAB, Trading standards and even BBC watch dog.

They to robbed me of £65 for a loan I never got only to be told I didnt pass the credit check even though they had told me I had money waiting to be put into my acount. Then I tryed to complain and they suddenly disapeared off the planet, I got an answer to the phone once only to be told it was a wrong number and many people hahd rang it complaining about loans (yea right) So I dont know where to go with it next? My bank? Does anyone know who to complain to? maybe watchdog on bbc1 rouge traders!!!

I too was duped by them today, they took my details and then wanted to charge my debit card £65 for processing my loan for £6000 for a car, that had been approved and was just waiting to be deposited in my account. I asked them straight if they were loan brokers or lenders and was told, lenders and the money I wanted was ready to be put into my bank account. Stupidly I believed them, gave them the details and hung up the phone. After seeing these notes I realise I have been conned and have been phoning them back non-stop but, surprise, surprise, no one is picking up the phone....!! they have e-mailed me their alleged terms and conditions though, if anyone would like to see a copy...!! A guy called Mike contacted me from this company , went through all my details and told me they would lend me the money, all i had to do was pay them £65 and i would be contacted in 3-5 days for my sort code and account number for the money to be paid in! I already have a broker so told him i didn't need another and he said that even though they are a broker its actually them that will be lending me the money and that i had definately been approved for the loan, so i went ahead and paid the £65 and was told to wait for the call in 3 to 5 days to transfer the money. Two weeks later, nothing! After calling them 3 times i was finally told the lenders wouldn't lend to me after doing a credit check and now my money would be used to repair my credit file! I asked for a refund but was told i'am not entitled to one as they have already started working on my behalf!!! Obviously i was very angry and told the arrogant girl i was talking to that Mike told me City Financial would be lending me the money and to listen back to the call as i had been misled, she then told me they only record some calls for training purposes, which i find disgraceful as i think all calls should be recorded as the staff clearly mislead the customers!! This company is a disgrace!! The staff are lovely until they get your money and then once they have it they are rude, impatient and fob you off!!! Please dont be taken in, like i was, by this company who promise you a loan then just take your money and have no intention whatsoever of giving you a loan!!!

Hi All, Just to let you know I contacted the Financial Ombudsman who are investigating the Company, I wrote to them stating there were a large number of people who have been ripped off , the company stating the monies have been used for credit repair. The Ombudsman wrote to them on the 4th April and they haVE 8 weeks to respond are they will take the case up. They have to provide written evidence how they have used the monies and who they have contacted on your behald. I wrote to these people on the 11/01/2011 requesting my money back, I have spoken to them now at least 6 times and keep getting fobbed off, you have to wait for the refunde department to contact you, apparently the refund dept do not take so called calls, I also spoke to my bank they refunded me the money then North Financialwrote to my bank stating that I had given this information legally and that I needed to write to them which I have done, and because of this the bank have taken the money back from me, I think I need to get back onto my bank and see what they say again. These people are just like yes loans they should not be allowed to trade and prey on vunerable people.

Complete arseholes
This is the otherside to 'city financial'. I paid £50 a couple of years ago to them and never got anything back.. was gonna just let it go but now I've found their details again, Im gonna make them pay what they owe or help the others show what con artists they really are. Do not use them, They lure you in by telling you they can do a loan when in fact, they have no idea and just want your money.

Ahh!! The joys of being told that you have the desired loan that you seek..Only to find later that you have been ripped off. They said that I definitely had the loan. No doubt about it, the money was mine. They told me that the lender (whose name they repeatedly refused to give me) would contact me within that week. NOTHING, not a sniff of a lender. So I called, and I called and I called..and eventually someone answered. And that someone said this to me "You can't have the loan because of your credit rating".."But you said I had the loan, you said it was definite, the money was mine" The girl on the phone said, sorry, but the lender would not lend. I was gutted, as you can imagine. It was total disbelief. I had planned to have my car fixed. Thank God I did not go ahead and get the work done on the say so of this company. I often wonder whether these people can sleep at night, knowing the lies that they tell. I am up for championing the cause of the victims. I have spoken to CF UK since the loan refusal, to request my money back, the girl on the other end of the phone said that they could "mend" my credit file. I asked what for, and she said that the money I paid would cover the "clean up" OK..I get it, you don't get people loans, you find out their credit rating and then offer to "fix" their credit file for them, cleaning it up and making it better and easier for them to get credit elsewhere..Well, she didn't deny it!!!! So there you have it, my brief tale of woe. I am not going to let this rest, I am going to pursue it. The Financial Ombudsman is my next port of call. They can mediate and get my money back for me. Then on to Companies House to discover what terrors I discover in their accounts. I look forward to hearing from you all soon..

I am in the same predicament as all of you and have written to this company anf rung them on numerous occasions. As I work in local govt and and have a friend who works for newsquest who own all the liocal newspapers we are in the process of publicising this company in the press and would be grateful for any feedback on this site to publicise more this company. Our trading standards dept are also investigating as they to have tried by phone to contact them by phone and have left a message and number and they have not yet responded. Avoid like the plague!! They are robbing sods. Still waiting call from refund dept for £65 which they took from my account before I authorised. Legal, visa and police now involved. This lot should be investigated. Same people on the phone all the time, rude with the same standard answers of promided loan at low interest rates. I know i was an idiot so don't you fall for the same con.

due to being bankrupt in 2009 i searched the internet trying to find someone who could give me a loan so i could replace my car that had packed up. city financial uk then contacted me explaining they help people with adverse credit. i spoke to a girl called hayley who was very nice or shall i say false. she told me she could get me a loan for £4k over 4 years on a 15%apr £96 a month. I was gobsmacked. She said it was guaranteed and all i had to pay was a £55 upfront fee coz i was a risk and then i would have the loan in my account within 3 - 5 days. i said to her that i had a car in mind and i had to £150 deposit in which i wouldnt get it back if there were problems. she said there will be no problems. i went ahead stupidly. i signed the terms and conditions and sent them off special delivery £5 that also cost me. several days later i had not heard anything and i thought they mite need my bank details to put the loan in so i called customer services only to speak to the rudest person on the planet. She wouldnt give me her name, she told me to wait for the lender to call, i asked for the lenders name so i am ready for when they call but she said she couldnt provide that info. (why - i did data protection if you can call it that, all she asked for was my D.O.B) the reason she couldnt tell me the lender because there was no lender, there was no loan. i was now very suspicious. i decided to use my 14 day cooling off period so i called again. guess what that same miserable woman picked up again(small business) i told her that i knew what they were up to and there was no loan. the abuse i got was hilarious. she said i had no right to cancel( i was on my 7th day) i then told her that she was wrong and i was going to contact my bank fraud department and trading standards in which she then quickly changed her mind and said i could have a refund providing i confirm it in writing. that letter has been sent but i await the next excuse. what i also did was speak to my bank fraud and dispute team and am sending them all relating paperwork and they said if i dont receive refund they will get my money back(contact your bank is the way forward). These guys are linked north financial services and are all scammers with no hearts. Tell them where to go. I will update me progress later. see ya

i actually got my money back yesterday...... not from them though.. i paid by visa debit... and contacted visa disbute through my bank, sent them a leter explaining what had happened along with their terms and conditions an they got all of my money back!!! after numerous phone call to their rude, hopeless, frustrating customer service dept.... i will never ever get caught again.... try through your bank if you pay them by debit card...good luck

You will need to contact the Financial Ombudsmen who will complain to this "company" on your behalf. This is how I obtained my refund Trust me, persistently ringing their customer services section is absolute waste of time, even if you do manage to speak to someone. They will only aggrivate you further with their rudeness.

I also paid £55 upfront. Got agreement all signed and they said it could be cancelled within 14 days. I posted letter day after and am still waiting for refund. The number they gave for City Financial is a woman's home telephone number and she is driven demented by irate City Financial customers.I am going to write to North Financial Services and threaten them with legal action! Again - I can't believe I was so stupid!!!

I was promised a loan with there sister company. City Financial, this never happened so I asked for my money back, this was promised to me, however when I tried calling to ask them how long this would take, the number is un obtainable. Tried North Financial number, again unobtainable.

after being caught by yes loans and wentworth direct city financial assured me they were not like them.. the money would be in my bank within 5 days... still waiting.....and waiting after 7 days and being told guaranteed money.. we were declined, cant have money back because they can repair credit file and get us a loan................complete CON dont beleive a word they say.. especially Phil in applications........total con.

Simply Dreadful
This company is nothing short of an outfit who prey on vulnerable individuals who are finding it difficult to obtain credit by conventional means. They have a daughter company called City Financial UK Ltd who essentially contact people in difficulty, promise them a loan within 3 - 5 working days subject to a £55 brokerage fee. They maintain that a lender (who they don't identify) will make contact in this time to iron out the formalities. Trust me this doesn't happen and City F will keep your fee until such time you raise such a stink that they have no option to refund. They never keep you updated regarding your loan application and if you try to ring them, they have an answer service which they usually ignore or you are invariably very rudely fobbed off. DO NOT USE THEM!!!
